If you’re going to go through the time and trouble to have a noncompete agreement, it needs to be enforceable and if you don’t have certain provisions that comply with Illinois law contained within that agreement, the agreement is not going to be enforced by a court in Illinois.
If you don’t keep up with the law, you don’t understand the law, and you don’t make the provisions specific enough, it’s not going to be enforced and generally only an attorney knows how to do that.
